My Story
Welcome new friend,
I am Michaela, mother of two beautiful girls, business owner, therapeutic art practitioner and art enthusiast. With a background spanning five years as a teaching assistant, experience as a youth worker, early childhood support worker and a career as a full time artist, I've come to appreciate the many facets of nurturing growth and creativity in others. And of course, I can't overlook the unique challenges and insights that motherhood brings, let's admit it, it's a job in its own right!
My art journey began during a tumultuous period in my teen years. I had no idea why art made me feel better, it just did. Of course now, through courses, reading and studies, I understand the profound connection between engaging the brain's creative centres, and fostering emotional well-being. It is truly mind blowing, the link between the two and how it remains underappreciated in society.
As an adult, I faced my own battles with depression, anxiety and trauma at the sudden loss of my mother and best friend. These experiences forced me to search for coping mechanisms, and through research, inner work, art and therapy, I discovered a formula that worked for me. I never imagined I would be in a position to share this knowledge with others, but as I unknowingly helped others by sharing what I learned, I realised I could make a meaningful difference.
I am NOT an accredited therapist, which is why I teamed up with one!
I'm a coach - meaning I have learned, studied and become qualified enough to implement and share the therapeutic techniques that work.
